Als Dramaturgin und Videodesignerin mit Erfahrung in Theater, Tanz und Oper hat mich immer der Blick „hinter“ die Dinge interessiert, auf das, was beim ersten Hinsehen verborgen ist, auf die überraschenden Metamorphosen, die Dinge und Wesen erfahren, wenn man sie anderes als gewohnt sieht: in jener poetischen Verwandlung, die mit dramaturgischen wie mit visuellen Mitteln machbar ist.
Große Opern sind hier ebenso herausfordernd wie die kleinen Geschichten in den Videoskulpturen: Wichtig ist, dass Dramaturgie und Bühnenprojektionen nicht einfach bebildern, sondern narrative Autonomie besitzen. Dem Publikum muss Raum für die eigene Erfahrung bleiben. In den Videoinstallationen ist das erzählerische Element ebenso massgeblich, sie sind wie Theaterstücke, in denen Raum und Objekte zu Akteuren werden.
Der handwerkliche - skulpturale - Prozess des Mappings und die analogen Techniken der Animation sind dabei ein besonders vergnügliches Experimentierfeld.
As a dramaturge and video designer with experience in theatre, dance and opera, I have always been attracted by looking "behind" things, at what is hidden at first glance, at the surprising metamorphoses that things and beings undergo when you see them differently than usual: by the poetic transformation that can be achieved with dramaturgy and with visual arts.
The grand operas are for me just as challenging as the small stories in my video sculptures: the point is that the dramaturgy and the stage projections might not simply illustrate a play, but possess narrative autonomy and thus leave the audience room for their own experience. Even in the video installations, the narrative element is also decisive for me, the installations are theatre pieces in which space and objects become actors.
The manual - nearly sculptural - process of mapping and the analogue techniques of animation are a particularly pleasurable field of experimentation.
