DRAMATURGIE UND VIDEODESIGN FÜR BÜHNENPROJEKTION
Im Videoediting und bei der Videoprojektion liegen meine Vorlieben bei analog erstelltem Material, das in professioneller Feinarbeit digital verfremdet wird und so neue und überraschende Bilder schafft. Das ganz große Bild der Oper ist dabei ebenso herausfordernd wie das ganz kleine in einer Videoinstallation: bei beiden gilt es Wirkungen und Erzählweisen einzuschätzen, damit die Videoprojektionen beim Publikum nicht als rein ästhetische Elemente ankommen, sondern auch narrative Autonomie besitzen.
In video editing and video projection, my preference is with analogue material, which is digitally alienated (in Brecht’s sense) by fine and precise editing skills and thus creates new and surprising images. The very large image of the opera is just as challenging as the very small one in a video installation: in both cases it is important to assess the effects and narrative modes so that the video projections do not appear to the audience as purely aesthetic elements, but also possess narrative autonomy.

Das Videodesign für George Bizets „Pêcheurs des Perles“ besteht aus nur 2 Grundelementen, die sich in Variationen durch alle Szenen ziehen: Das Meer (es handelt sich um meine Aufnahmen aus dem Indischen Ozean) und der große Kronleuchter der Opéra Comique in Paris.
The video design for George Bizet's "Pêcheurs des Perles" consists of only 2 basic elements, which run through all scenes in variations: The sea (my shots from the Indian Ocean) and the great chandelier of the Opéra Comique in Paris.

Für die Inszenierung mussten wir die ursprüngliche Freiluft-Fassung aus Aix en Provence 2012 für den Theaterraum adaptieren. Das Videodesign basierte auf Originalaufnahmen von Objekten und Lichtreflexen aus Aix en Provence und Aufnahmen von organischen Strukturen: Visuelle Komplexität und die autonome Bewegung natürlicher Elemente.
For the production we had to adapt the original open-air version from Aix en Provence 2012 for the theatre space. The video design was based on original recordings of objects and light reflexes from Aix en Provence and recordings of organic structures: visual complexity and the autonomous movement of natural elements.
